Gamma-GT FS (Szasz mod./IFCC stand.)
Product Number : 1 2801
Description
Gamma-glutamyltransferase (gamma-GT/GGT), also called gamma-glutamyl transpeptidase, is an enzyme present in the liver and bile ducts and is the most sensitive indicator of hepatobiliary disease. Due to the high negative predictive value for these diseases, gamma-GT measurements are widely used to exclude the presence of diseases of liver or biliary origin. Together with other enzymes such as alanine aminotransferase (ALAT), aspartate aminotransferase (ASAT), and cholinesterase, gamma-GT is a potential marker for the differential diagnosis of liver disease.
